Ongoing Restoration Work at Christ Church Ore
To address significant water ingress and crumbling plaster, we have carefully removed the damaged plaster from the interior walls. The walls will now be left to fully dry out over the next few years before being replastered, helping to preserve the long-term health of the building.
Alongside this, essential external repairs are underway. Starting mid-June 2025, the cast iron gutters along the north aisle and west wall will be removed, refurbished, and replaced. The old mortar on the high-level stonework of the west gable ends and north aisle walls will also be replaced with lime mortar, following the architect’s specifications. This project is expected to take around six weeks, depending on weather conditions.
These works are crucial to safeguarding Christ Church for future generations, and we are grateful for your continued support.
