A thought from George Ford

‘Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.’
(Psalm 37:3-4)

Reflection

Here the Psalmist emphasises Trust, Delight, and Joy in the Lord as the positives we need whatever temporary trials may face us. Urging us to hold steadfast to the love and faithfulness God has for us. For He will guide us through. As a proverb ascribed to the wisdom of King Solomon puts it ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight’ (Proverbs 3:5&6)

Prayer

Heavenly Father, creator and provider of all good things; forgive our foolish ways and strengthen us anew with your Spirit, that we might wholeheartedly trust You in all things and forever know the joyful delight of Your love and guidance. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

Worship

Father of Heavenly Lights, Fount of wisdom and love, all is laid bare in your sight; You know my ways, I believe You will provide all I need in my life.
