A thought from George Ford
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” (Rev 3:20)
Reflection
The Jesus who came to seek and save the lost stands patiently at the door to our hearts gentle asking to be let in. There is that wonderful Holman Hunt picture of Jesus holding the lamp of His love and guidance standing knocking at a door which appears not to have a handle on His side – because we have the handle on our side – we have to choose to open the door and let Him in. May we let His love in, and the light of His ways direct us.
Prayer
Loving Lord Jesus, who patiently waits at the door of all our hearts, help all who do not know the joy of sharing life with you to open their hearts to you, your love, and your guiding Spirit. And to all who know you, may they be strengthen to tell of all you are to them in their lives. To the everlasting praise of your name. Amen
