A thought from George Ford
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ in His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. (1 Peter 1:3-4)
Reflection
St Peter reminding the readers of his letter of the everlasting and living hope all who believe have, that Jesus not only died that we might know God’s forgiveness, but, that He rose again that we might live a new life with Him, through faith. A life with Him both in this world and in the eternity of heaven.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your forgiveness and everlasting life with you through the death and resurrection of Jesus. In your great mercy, renew that living hope within us and strengthen us with your Spirit to live out our days walking in your ways until at last we rest in your enteral presence through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
Worship
My Jesus, My Saviour, Lord, there is none like you. All of my days I want to praise the wonders of your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength, let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship you. Shout to the Lord all the earth, let us sing power and majesty, praise to the King. Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of your name. I sing for joy at the work of your hands. Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in you. (Darlene Zschech, 1993)
