A thought from George Ford

“For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Reflection

God’s Spirit inspired Word, the Bible, at its most simplest informs us of what God has and can do ! But quite rightly the writer of the letter to the Hebrews tells us that when we read God’s inspired word it penetrate our being in a way that makes us conscious of our relationship with Him, His purpose for our lives, and all we can become. That it has the great ability to inspire our hearts and minds, ignite our Spirit, and influence our wills.

Prayer

Heavenly Father grant that through our regular reading of Your Word, the Bible, may we know Your love in our hearts and minds, be renewed in Your Spirit, and ever guided in Yours ways, according to Your loving purpose for our lives. For Jesus sake. Amen.

Worship

Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship Your holy name. You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger, Your name is great and Your heart is kind. For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing; Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Bless the Lord O my soul, O my soul, worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul, I’ll worship Your holy name. (Jonas Myrin & Matt Redman 2011)
