A thought from George Ford

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:14-16)

Reflection

There is an old chorus written by Kate B. Wilkinson (1859-1928) a member of the Keswick Convention Movement who ministered mainly to girls in London. Keep me shining Lord, Keep me shining Lord, In all I say and do, That the world may see Christ lives in me, and learn to love Him too. What will you or I say or do today that will show that the love of Jesus lives in us, so that others might come to know and love Him to?

Prayer

Loving Lord Jesus we praise and thank you for your great love of us. Fill our hearts anew we pray, with your Spirit, that we might shine for you in all we say and do today, Because we know and love you, and want for others to know and love you too. To your praise and glory.
Amen

Worship

‘Shine Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory; Blaze Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire. Flow river, flow, Flood the nations with grace and mercy; Send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light.’
(Graham Kendrick, 1987)
