A thought from George Ford
Some men brought to Him (Jesus) a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” Then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, take up your mat and go home.
(Matthew 9:2&6)
Reflection
It’s often the things we have not done, or wrong things we have done that can weigh heaviest on our minds and hearts. On occasions the weight of this guilt builds ups to a point that makes us unwell even paralysed. But when we take our burden of guilt to Jesus He will take it from us, restoring us to ‘get up’ and ‘walk‘ once more.
Prayer
Loving Lord Jesus, who hung on the cross for our forgiveness; help us not to hold on to guilt for things we should have done, but did not do, or guilt for wrong things we have done, but bring them to you that we might know your loving forgiveness lifting our burden, and strengthening our spirit to ‘get up’ and ‘walk’ again. For your precious names sake. Amen
Worship
Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord. He died in pain on Calvary. Walk, walk in the light. To save the lost like you and me. Walk, walk in the light. Walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light, walk in the light of the Lord. (Damian Lundy 1978)
