A thought from George Ford

Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song you mountains! For the Lord comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.
(Isaiah 49:13)

See I have engraved you on the palms of my hands . (Isaiah 49:16)

Reflection

This last sentence portrays a wonderful image of a tiny and vulnerable infant laying at peace in God the Father’s large and almighty hand. Many things might be bigger than us and beyond our understanding. But when our faith and trust is in the God we know and love, then we are in deed engraved – cradled in those loving and almighty hands, and are guided by Him in His ways through each of our days.

Prayer

Heavenly Father who has promised to never to leave us, or forsake us, help us today to know we are safely in your hands. Strengthen us by your Spirit to feel your love, know your peace and hear your guidance that we might ever praise your name for your everlasting compassion and mercy through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
