A thought from George Ford

The Psalmist wrote: ‘Cast all your care on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.’ (Psalm 55:22)

St. Peter wrote; ‘Cast all your anxiety on Him, God our Heavenly Father, because He cares for you’ (1 Peter 5:7) (Italics added)

Reflection

Although God doesn’t remove life’s difficulties from us, He is there in the midst of them with us. Jesus also called all who are weary and burden to come to him and rest (Matt 11:28) he also assured His disciples and us, that He will always be with us. (Matt 28:20) Because of His great love we can give Him all our anxieties to shoulder, knowing He cares, and understands. In quiet patience we will find His love guiding us through, one day at a time.

Prayer

Heavenly Father we lift into your hands all that troubles us and makes us anxious. Strengthen us by your Spirit to daily walk and talk with you. Uphold especially we pray all who today are worrying about their health, family, friends, careers, or looming financial difficulties. May they too dear Lord, according to their need, experience your love, peace, and guidance. To the everlasting praise of your name. Amen.

Worship

Father I place in to your hands my friends and family. Father I place into your hands the things that trouble me. Father I place into your hands the person I would be, for I know I always can trust you. (Jenny Hewer 1975)
